What’s Las Vegas going to come to? With water shortage from Lake Mead and Las Vegas being the Top 5 in foreclosures and “The epicenter of foreclosures shifted to the booming city of Las Vegas at the end of 2007.” According to CNN Money. Most people think Las Vegas will not be there by 2014. Well, it is in the middle of the desert.

Recently, my family has taken a trip to Las Vegas as we do every year. When I first turned on the radio heard about the public schools not being successful in Las Vegas. I never even thought about schools in Las Vegas. Usually when I think about the children of Las Vegas, I see them as tourists not actual residents of Las Vegas (In reality Las Vegas’s school systems are ranked 48th out of 50). Mostly because Las Vegas is not family orientated at all (there are family orientated hotels like Circus Circus, although I don’t consider them as that because they have bars and casinos). Then I wondered what do children do all day even as a tourist if a lot of parents usually go to Las Vegas to go to they’re casinos.

As for the casinos, many people don’t pay attention to the scams within them.

1.) There are no clocks (can’t tell the time, so can’t stop yourself from continuing to gamble)

2.) No windows/tinted windows (can’t tell the time of day)

3.) Free Alcohol (Keep you going and playing)

4.) Addicting (Often times, you go out for a couple hours and see the same people in the casino)

Also, according to Las Vegas Sun, “North Las Vegas announced this week that it received $677,700 under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to help families facing foreclosure.” That of course would mean a lot of families are facing foreclosure. What happens to them in 10 years. I’ve heard Las Vegas was named the most dangerous city in America three years running. And everything you want to do Las Vegas involves smoke-filled casinos.

Sure there are goods things there in Las Vegas but, it depends on you’re preference of good.

Thank You!!!!:)
